holy week adventure

This whole week must be spent repenting and asking for forgiveness for the sins committed. and now, im gonna relate to you my HOLY WEEK 2009 adventure.

HOLY MONDAY (ended UNHOLY)

my holy monday started out quiet. i had no plans of going out. but eventually, my twin sissies, jon and boki, texted me that they wanted to go to our house. Hospitable as i am, i said yes. and there, they arrived. we had a little chitchat. they helped me finish my long overdue project(LOL.). then after like an hour of talking and talking, i decided to bring them to Our Lady of Consolation Parish - Recoletos, Laray because two of my brothers, Gard and Bossing, were still there and both of these brothers of mine had been inviting me to be there. they wanted me to taste their 'just harvested' mangoes. and finally i heeded their call. i also intended to return the USB i borrowed from Gard. and so, we walked from our house to the church. Upon arriving, Gard welcomed us. Good thing, when we pulled in, the fathers were having their siesta. we went to the convent’s kitchen and started eating the sweet yet sour mangoes plunged into a 'toyo + sugar' sauce and talked our hearts out. we made use of the camera that Jon brought. we didnt notice the time. while busy chatting and 'habhab-inig', Fr. Allan came out. he informed me that i was included in the Recollections, official publication of CaRes, and got a copy for me to see. and i was really there, being interviewed 'kuno'! haha. we had a lot of chikas only to find out the sun had already slipped into the horizon. and at around 8pm, we decided to go home. on the way home, i was still undecided whether i go to Mango with friends or not. and at last i had decided. i went to Mango and crossed the threshold of Club Juliana. It was my first time and TAKE NOTE, it was on a holy monday. ohmagahleeh! my holy monday ended up unholy, i must say. HAHA. all the drinks and stuff. of course, i danced too. haha. not bad for a first timer, i was with a good company, NO HARMS! LOL. i went home at 3am, was fetched by my ever supportive parents and slept at around 4am of holy tuesday. I was really really tired!

HOLY TUESDAY (locked up)

i woke up ooverly laate. like, 11am? not that late though. atleast i had a seven-hour rest. i ate my BRUNCH (is this correct? HAHA). right after i filled up my tummy, i went to my computer and checked my mail, and friendster and multiply accounts. i was chatting with friends online when i suddenly received a text message from Mayang telling me that kuya shandz and kuya edlyn wanted to meet with us (may, jon, boki and i) right after the mass they would attend later that day. i am the always-on-the-go guy so i affirmed. kuya shandz told us that the mass was 5pm and upon arriving in laray, it was 6pm pala. aaargh. we were so early there, so early to get disappointed. lols. and so we decided not to join the mass and headed off to SM. we stopped by mambaling and met Stephanie Hamis who was problematic coz her paps let her enroll summer class. haha. the thought of visiting ate anna who lives nearby suddenly popped out. ate anna had been in the hospital to look over her dad who got ill. and we were so lucky for they just got out from the hospital that very day. Ate anna then joined the group. While waiting for a jeepney, there were people calling me from afar. Oh no! my fouth year classmates, baotur and peter. HAHA. I was shocked seeing their faces. We then arrived at SM all sweaty. The jeepney was like very full and was so ho0ot – discomfortingly hoot. Haha. Then tere, mae grace, cyra and cygi arrived after their jogging and belly-dancing session. We ate at mcdo(we really had no money) coz we were starving to death. And after like 2/more hours of waiting(SM was about to close), the awaited angels arrived. We were not expecting kuya sim to be there. Since SM was already close, we jumped to mango and walked to yellow cab. See how stupid we are? Haha. We spent the rest of the night there. Not minding the text messages of Boki’s mom saying that boki will be tied in the stairs and in there she will sleep. We were sharing very KOOORNYY jokes and just laughing not becoz of the jokes but of ourselves. Haha. we went home at around 12mn. Haha. plus, we made ‘hatod’ jon and boki. So, I arrived home 1am. When I arrived, the gate was locked. Good thing, my mom still opened the gate. I thought I was gonna sleep outside. lols. thank God.

HOLY WEDNESDAY (hate late)

My mom woke me up at 9am and told me to go with them to hear mass and have confession. Obedient as I am, I followed. After having prepared everything, we headed to our destination. When we reached the city proper (my mom’s plan was to hear mass at redemptorist), my dad asked me where we would go, I replied “kumpisal man kaha.” I thought dad was going to bring us to a certain church but he took us to ayala instead. We have no appointments in ayala and I was really shocked why dad drove us there. My mom and I just patiently followed dad. He too had no business there. And so, I just took the chance. I bought myself a new 4GB usb. It was like 12nn already, and we were feeling very hungry and so we took our lunch. After lunch, we moved around. And it felt awkward because my mom and dad were not talking coz they had a little misunderstanding earlier that day and so I had to be their medium of communication. My dad stopped by an appliance center. He was looking around. I also looked around. I went to the camera section. I was really drooling over those DSLR cameras when suddenly I received a text message from my classmate telling me that I should be in laray at 1pm to meet with fr. Albert. What the heck! It was like 12:50pm and traveling to laray takes a lot of time. I know there was going to be a meeting and it would still be at 3pm only to find out that it was rescheduled. I was really surprised on how the events turned out. I reached my destination. I was really late. Haha. may30, 2009 would be our reporting day to casiciaco recoletos and that’s so early. I need to book a flight for me. That ended my holy Wednesday.

MAUNDY THURSDAY (silence all over)

I spent this day just at home. I really never had thoughts of going out. I busied myself with television and the project I had been finishing for weeks. I spent it with my family. I had some nice chitchats with my sister, manilyn. I enjoyed baby-sitting my nephew, thirdy. We again failed to have confession. Instead, I had a moment with myself. It was like one tranquil day for me – atleast for a day, i freed myself from the pressures I have been experiencing. It was fulfilling. Later that afternoon, my mom invited me to join her attend the Stations of the Cross with the other homeowners of our subdivision. I refused because I already had attended series of Stations of the Cross since the Lenten season started.

GOOD FRIDAY (feeling hot)

Atlast, we already had gone to confession. The queues of people wanting to confess were so so so so long. But we endured it. My last confession was a month ago and it felt really great to be freed from the slavery of sin. It was uncanny seeing the church’s altar having the replicas of Jesus and the saints covered. As in like, I felt the need to contemplate and be sorry for the shortcomings I did for the past month. And so, mani drove us home after we had received forgiveness and penance. We were so hungry. And good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence. So, we ate the newly cooked binignit. The food is in fact best eaten when hoooot. I with my my family listened to and pondered on the seven last words and prepared ourselves for the death of our Savior. I always break down into tears everytime I see video clips from the Passion of Christ. Especially that clip with the song Everything I Do. everytime I remember the very reason why Jesus let Himself be crucified, I feel fortunate . as the song goes, “I am here because of Your love.” Right after the siete palabras and a nap, I prepared myself for our out of town the next day. Right after packing up my things, I dozed off.

BLACK SATURDAY (reminiscence)

I woke up seeing everyone very busy preparing for our trip. We were going south! Yea! At first, I thought of it as peculiar coz it would be our first time to be out of town on a holy week but I considered it as an opportunity to bond with my family nlang. Our car’s engine started and we were off to go! Our first stop was dalaguete, we planned to stay there overnight. We arrived there around 5:30pm at the house of manoy Julie and ate berns. They were exceptionally hospitable. the undemanding living and the very serene surroundings in the province have always lured me. the rural area is the best place to unwind. My dad and sanko marvin prepared our dinner (SuTuKil) while I and mani reminisced our childhood moments with jm listening to us. the unriped mango completed our conversation. Then mom called us for dinner. The dinner was sooo yummy and DAARn I couldnt stop myself from eating. Haha. good thing, tanduay was also served. Haha. after eating, mani, jm and I played cards. And after, we stargazed. See? Living in the province can be very overwhelming even without so much technology. The fresh air and cold ambiance made me feel like sleeping and so I visited dreamland.

EASTER SUNDAY (roasted ME)

ALLELUIA! Our Savior had finally risen. I woke up very early due to the exhilaration id felt since last night. we started out very early, after breakfast. We stopped by barili and alcantara until we reached the pallid and crumbly sands of moalboal. I had never seen such wonderful beach since last year (id never been to negros’ beaches, only other water forms). Haha. though iv been to moalboal several times already, I still was very keyed up to plunge myself to the refreshing waters. We braved the scorching heat of the sun and I so loved it. Haha. AND I WAS EFFFIN TANNED OR SHALL I SAY ROASTED. HAHA. the people, the picturesque view, the arctic waters and the lip-smacking food – they completed my EASTER SUNDAY. We retreated quite early coz we still have to fulfill our easter Sunday obligation. We were supposed to attend mass at 9am but they suggested that we would just hear mass later that day. We drove home around 5pm. Our target mass sked was 7pm, unfortunately, minglanilla had its kabanhawan feast. And we were stuck there. It sucked. Haha. we were not able to make it to the 7pm mass. And so we took the 8:15 mass at Sto. Rosario. Haiz. We were so tired and wanted to rest. After the mass, I headed back to talisay and met with ate joy and kuya lim there. I promised ate joy to be with her and so I really did, even if late na ko. I stayed there with her while she was busy conversing with kuya Hansel and the rest. I went home hungry and exaggeratedly tired. As usual, my mom was still awake to wait for me. I so love her for that. And there, my adventure ended. Haha.

That was one heck of a week. The activities were well balanced. Haha. I had enjoyed physically and at the same time uplifted my spirituality. I learned a lot of things and unlearned some as well. I know, this blog is waaay late but hey, this is mine! I have maximum right! Ahah. Til my next blog, lovies!
